            where ideas abound

Greetings and Salutations!

Since graduating from the University of Denver with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, I have obtained extensive television and broadcast experience.  I started out working for Oceanic Cable in their Community Programming Department where my duties included instructing individuals how to produce, operate and edit programs for broadcast.

Upon leaving Oceanic Cable I moved on to KWHE TV-14 where I produced and directed everything from 'live' weekly television programs to editing and producing corporate and private programs for clients for broadcast.  In 1991, I was the producer as well as a photographer for the 1991 total lunar eclipse on the Big Island of Hawaii.  The video feed went all over the world and was seen on CNN.

I freelanced and traveled to various foreign countries including: England, Jordan, Israel, Vanuatu, Fiji, Spain, France, Switzerland, New Zealand, Australia, Turkey, Germany, Greece, Solomon Islands and Austria documenting historical sites, both secular and religious.  Thirty-minute programs were produced and aired on KWHE TV-14 as well as on other independent networks.

Soon after my overseas experience I was invited to join KHNL Hawaii News 8 as a Photojournalist where my duties included writing, shooting, editing and reporting news stories on a daily basis to be broadcast.  KHNL was the nations first all-digital newsroom and made local television history by being awarded an Emmy for 'Best Newscast in a Small Market' in 1996.

After my time at KHNL, I returned to KWHE, Oceanic Cable 11, to become the Broadcast Production Manager.  KWHE was the local Warner Brothers affiliate at the time.  During my time at the station, our weekly cume (ratings) jumped from a 3.9 share to a 7.9 within six months after launching the new programming.  My duties also included managing four employees as well as twenty freelancers when large productions were in demand.

My next challenge lead me to Golden Tapa Productions where we produced a thirty-minute magazine-style program,  Hawaii Business Magazine , which aired on KHON and  KGMB.  Our company was nominated for a Regional Emmy in 1999 for best program in the 'Current Affairs Program' category.  We also produced the Jaguar CEO Tour, a one-hour golf highlight program shot from various locations across the nation including Chicago, Arizona, Los Angeles and San Francisco.  The show aired regionally, as well as locally and earned a Telly Award in 1999.

Recently, I had the opportunity to work with Habilitat Inc., on the Windward side of O'ahu, as a PR Specialist, photographer and graphic artist. Scheduling promotional events with the media and designing promotional material were just a few of my duties.

Currently, I am a freelance photographer & graphic artist utilizing my own company.  I enjoy working everything from corporate events to weddings and everything in between.  I also enjoy conducting private excursions throughout the Island for O'ahu Nature Tours.

I have always enjoyed every aspect of photography, graphic design & television production.  I love the feeling of completing a project and seeing the final results.  Thank you very much for taking the time to view my site.

        Sincerely,
